Man Utd planning move for De Jong

Manchester United are reportedly planning to make another move for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong during this summer’s transfer window. According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have placed a renewal offer on the table for the ex-Ajax youngster, but it is yet to be signed, with the Dutchman thought to be holding out for more money. The report claims that Barcelona view De Jong as ‘a fundamental player’, but due to the club’s financial situation, serious offers for the midfielder would be listened to this summer. The Catalan giants are said to be keen on signing either Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi or Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich this summer, with De Jong therefore potentially being allowed to depart. Ten Hag is said to remain determined to bring De Jong to Man United, viewing him as ideal signing to help transform a midfield which has struggled this season.
