This was confirmed by a statement released on Friday by Shettima’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Stanley Nkwocha.

In the statement, titled “Shettima Returns To Abuja After Umrah In Saudi Arabia,” it was revealed that during his visit to the sacred site, the Vice President prayed for the peace and stability of Nigeria. He prayed specifically for the country’s peace and social harmony, saying, “Our prayer is for peace to prevail in our land. May Allah grant our land peace and social harmony.”

Shettima also prayed for the leadership at all levels of government, from the federal to the local government tiers, seeking divine guidance and support for Nigeria’s leaders.

Before embarking on his spiritual journey, Vice President Shettima had represented President Bola Tinubu at the inauguration of a $315 million oil production and storage facility owned by Oriental Energy Limited in Dubai, UAE.

During his time abroad, Shettima has spent a total of 61 days on 12 separate international trips to various countries. He has accumulated over 200 hours of flight time.
