The people of Edo State will vote for their next governor in an election that is set to make history.
For the first time in the state, voters will have three candidates of relatively equal strength and popularity vying to become the next governor.
With the elections less than 6 days away, Yesufu, a chieftain of the Labour Party, has encouraged voters to cast their votes for the former president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
In a recent video that has emerged, she said: “The roads are terrible in Edo State, and that is why we need to give Olumide Akpata the opportunity to work. Let him replicate what Alex Otti is doing in Abia State. For those who claim to have the solution, we haven’t seen anything. Apart from propaganda, what else do they do.”
Meanwhile, the Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, has called on the Labour Party (LP) faithful, indigenes, and residents of Edo State to vote for Olumide Akpata and be vigilant so that their will is not circumvented.
He gave the charge when he visited the state to galvanize votes, especially from the Igbo-speaking groups, for the governorship candidate of the party in Edo.
Otti said that the forthcoming governorship election in the state is crucial, and they must ensure that their votes are guarded jealously.
