The agency’s call is contained in a statement, issued by its Director-General, Umar Muhamned this Friday.

The statement indicates that NIHSA has observed a steady rise in water levels on Rivers Niger and Benue, which had gotten to the RED mark and therefore, admonishes citizens along the River banks and downstream to move to safe areas, secure their homes and belongings and follow evacuation orders if need be.

The agency also assures it would continue to monitor the water levels of the major rivers and tributaries on a daily basis and issue flood warnings and alerts when and where necessary....For More READ THE FULL STORY ▶▶
