When You Visited Lawal In Lodge, I Saw You, Did I Ask You For Money ? –According to Abbo

Elisha Abbo, a former federal legislator, claimed in a story published by Sahara reporters on Wednesday that he had petitioned President Bola Tinubu and the National Judicial Council (NJC) to have his election rendered void. According to Abbo, President Tinubu received a petition asking him to stop C.E. Nwosu-Iheme, who is suspected of tampering with Abbo’s election, from being sworn in as a possible justice of the Supreme Court.

Senator Abbo asserted that Nwosu-Iheme, accused of corruption, is unfit for the apex court. Additionally, Abbo called on the NJC to investigate the circumstances surrounding the nullification. During a press briefing, Abbo questioned the judiciary’s accountability, likening it to other professions where negligence is penalized. He criticized the nomination of Justice Dongban-Mensem as President of the Court of Appeal, alleging a decline in the court’s integrity during her tenure, pointing to corruption and bribery.

He said: “And I want the President of the Court of Appeal to know that I screened you as a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in June 2020. Your CV was forwarded to us. I have your CV with me. We screened you.

“Despite all the hullabaloo against your nomination, we looked at you and decided based on the merit and the document before us and we confirmed you in the Senate. Did I get money from you? Have I asked you to give me any money as a senator before I screened you? I could have objected.
